Rich A - Brisbane QLD Recently I decided to purchase a diamond to have put into a engagement ring for my long time girl friend. I shopped locally to get an idea of what I was looking for in colour, size and clarity. The prices at the local jewellery stores lead me to the internet to look for a better deal. I could not find what I wanted for what I could afford to pay. I talked to a few diamond jewellers before I ended up talking to you, I thought Steven was real informative in helping me make the right choice. He spent some time on the phone going over what was important and what was not. There is no since paying for something that is not needed. As a construction estimator I deal with price/value all the time so I appreciated the information. Steven emailed me information on a number of diamonds that were currently available in the size, colour and clarity that I had in mind. I choose one that was in my budget under $6,000.00. A IGI certified princess cut, 1.11 carrot with "G" colour and in a SI1 clarity. This stone ended up being closer in colour to an "F" than to "G" so colour was not an issue. Once it was approved by me he emailed me the certificates and I gave them the approval to send it. I called and gave him my credit card information for a deposit and it was shipped Federal Express overnight to me. The diamond looked great to me but I am no expert so I took it to a couple of different local jewellers to get there opinion. One weighed it and took a quick look to see if it was as represented. It was. The other jeweller was one I went to High School with so I knew him and trusted that he would give me an honest opinion. He pulled out an un-graded 1.16K, SI, E to compare it too. It compared well in size and colour. I personally could not tell the difference between the two and either could the jeweller with the naked eye. The price tag on the local jeweller's diamond showed $8,700.00. The jeweller said he could not find anything bad to say about my stone. The ring was appraised at $11,900 for replacement cost. My total investment for diamond, ring and setting was approximately $6,500. I am totally satisfied with Leonard's and the diamond I purchasing.
